Apparently, we got a new Siamese kitten in the family yesterday. He's kind of big for a kitten, and he seems to know his way around the world pretty well for a newborn. As a matter of fact, he looks a lot like...Otto!
We've gotten so used to seeing Otto's ginger, slow steps lately and his endless nap-time that it's been a total surprise to see his personality change again overnight. Today, Sean said Otto was out playing on the back porch with one of Wanda's fluffy-brushes--all by himself. Sean could hear him tossing the "toy" in the air and chasing it down repeatedly. As far as I can remember, he's never done that.
Tonight, Sean played with the cats for a long time, and Otto was particularly boisterous--he was running around chasing the feather toy like a maniac, and seemed to be having a blast. When he stopped for a few minutes to rest, he looked up at Sean with what could only be described as utter gratitude and love. It's like he knows we did something to make him feel better, even if he's not sure exactly what. Sean says he's been looking at him like that for the last 24 hours or so.
This is all good stuff. Here are some pictures of Otto's boo-boo.
Well, this pic caught Otto with his eyes closed and looking sleepy. But he has been seriously alert, talkative, and obviously feeling better. Today he jumped into my office chair (which is taller than a standard desk chair) with no issues. He had not done that in quite a while. Big buddy Otto. :-)
