The buddies have been in a very playful mood lately. I don't know if it's the warm spring-like air or the extra mush they've all been getting, but everyone has been having a little more fun than usual lately.
Take Mister for example. This morning, I heard him knock a water-bottle top off the bathroom counter, which I'd accidentally left there after a workout yesterday. He knocked the blue top to the ground, then bounded down to bat it around for a bit, as though it were the best toy EVER. This is coming from a cat who is now 15--the equivalent of about an 80-something-year-old man, by most accounts. No bingo and shuffle-board for this senior citizen...no sirree. (Although I guess this game is a little like shuffle-board...)
Wanda has decided she LOVES the little ball game that we bought them that has a small yellow plastic ball in a round plastic track. Elroy and Reggie are already big fans of this game, batting that little yellow ball around the track enthusiastically, but Wanda just this week decided that she thinks it's pretty cool, too...for a cat game. That's the thing--Wanda doesn't usually like the same kind of games other cats like, so this is a real concession for her. But play she will...throwing herself wholeheartedly into the game and actually sitting in the middle of the circle to get the full effect. Even Reggie and Elroy don't do that.
