More Adventures in Cuddle Box

Reggie has a chronic post-nasal drip.  We've always treated it like an allergy and given him allergy medicine, but that doesn't really seem to work most of the time.  Today, Sean tried sitting with him in the bathroom with a dehumidifier, followed by a short stint in the Cuddle Box.

Otto, Sean, Reggie and I all piled into the Cuddle Box together, some of us a little more reluctant than others.  Reggie, as he had in the one previous time Sean had tried this, walked around constantly for a few minutes, trying to get out of the box.  (This is ironic, coming from a cat who likes to sleep with his head under the wood-stove.  Seriously.)  What was amusing about it was that Reggie finally got comfortable on the floor of the Cuddle Box, just as Mister decided to come investigate.  Suddenly, Mister's head appears before Reggie's.  They "sniff" each other through the glass, then Mister carries on about his business.  Mister, unsurprisingly, has no interest in the Cuddle Box.

Meanwhile, Otto has plopped down between the two of us, eyes closed happily, oblivious to the copious amounts of perspiration sliding off my arms onto him.

A minute later, Mister shows back up again.  "What's going on in there?"  Gives up, walks away again.

Then Wanda, whom we were just talking about trying to put in the Box, walks up.  We open the door, holding Reggie back, and she sticks her head in the door, sniffs the air...and beats a hasty retreat.  Sean went after her, thinking all she needed was a little persuasion.  This is a cat, after all, who prefers to sleep under the covers rather than on top of them.  Wanda unhelpfully scampered up the stairs, and Sean came back, trying to regain his "heat buzz."

We put Reggie back on the bench with us, where Otto promptly bit him on the leg, starting the feline equivalent of World War Three.  Reggie was allowed to exit the Cuddle Box.  I followed shortly thereafter.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I always say, but something tells me we won't be venturing in that direction again.
