I know, I know...I'm going to catch it from Sean for making that the title of this post. But FRANKly (ahem), that's kind of what Otto looks like right now.
Poor Otto and poor Mister both had to go to the vet today. Mister was just going back for his three-month check on his kidney and thyroid levels after his radioactive iodine (I know--I can't believe it's been three months, either), and Otto had to have a cyst removed from his shoulder.
Otto has been having more and more difficulty walking lately, it would appear in large part due to this cyst on his shoulder. It would wax and wane, and the vet said it was harmless, but it was not making Otto a happy buddy. So today, we had it removed, and it's like a miracle has occurred. Otto is moving faster than I've seen him move in a while, so either he's really feeling a lot better already, or else he's scored some really good drugs at the vet. Probably it's a little of both.
Regardless, we're just happy to see him happier, even if he does have a four-inch-long incision on his shoulder that is currently stitched up a la Frankenstein. We're hoping that this was the only issue and his joints aren't giving him any trouble. Dr. McKisson said his blood work all looked good, and that he couldn't detect any outward signs of arthritis, so hopefully this will solve the issue.
Mister, meanwhile, has gained two pounds (way to go, Mister-Buddy!), but we have to wait a few days to get his lab results back.
Once again, keeping fingers crossed...
