Dowsing for Cooper

Day 5:  Not much new to report.  We have vague rumors coming out of Hilton Head that sound like we may not have a habitable house to go back to.

Luckily, the buddies don't know that, yet.  They're going to be annoyed.

Right now though, they're napping and being the sweet, good-natured buddies that they are.  All of them have been very well-behaved for the most part.  Cooper seems to think that the carpet and furniture is one big scratching post, so I went out and bought a toy that has a scratching post on the inside and a little ball that goes around and around a track on the outside.  Zelda has been on an off-and-on hunger strike.  She is a picky eater in the best of times, but this has definitely not been the best of times.  She only sporadically eats her favorite food, but we have to monitor her while eating since Reggie isn't allowed to eat it due to his suspected chicken allergy.  Reggie, for his part, is just being sweetness and light, but as luck would have it, we forgot to pack his pimple medicine  so he's been digging at his chin a lot.  He's got his mousse and his pills, so we've made do.

New games:  playing with the circle/ball toy, playing with the little plastic rings from the gallon jugs of water bottles, and Cooper's best new game--climbing behind the dresser and/or getting in the drawers and THEN climbing behind them.  (It's really only fun for him.)  Luckily, we have the secret weapon of dangling the string toy in front of him and he comes leaping out to play with it.  (We've started calling the string toy the "Cooper Dowser" since you can always find him under the bed or hiding under something by flicking the toy around a few times.)

Oh, and the newest update:  we just discovered that Cooper, like his big brother Otto, cannot eat the Taste of the Wild, Canyon River version without hurling.  We're not sure why this is--Reggie and Zelda ate it just fine, and Reggie, Wanda, Elroy, Mister and Mango ate it just fine before them.  But Cooper's belly said no, and said so rather forcefully and immediately.  I share this last part only as a Public Service Announcement in case anyone else has experienced the same thing.  Okay, and just because it's weird.

More updates as we get them.  Thanks for reading.
